Dear Sir or Madam:

It has been my pleasure to work with Kateri Swavely in the Lebanon Valley College Marching Band student leadership.I served as the Visual Coordinator (student band director) while Kateri served as the bandís Drill Designer.Kateri worked tirelessly and on a tight deadline to create drill that was not only visually stimulating, but also highly supportive of the music. Her nearly seventy pages of drill pleased audiences and band members alike.

Though it was not a required responsibility of her position, Kateri frequently assisted me with the planning of band rehearsals. Her ability to analyze problems and develop potential courses of action was invaluable. The band would not have been able to achieve the high level of performance that it did without the rehearsal techniques that were implemented due to her suggestions.

Kateriís strengths extend well outside the realm of marching band.Academically, she has maintained a membership to the Lebanon Valley College Deanís List every semester while in college.Kateri is also an accomplished Flautist having performed in several collegiate ensembles such as the Lebanon Valley College Flute Ensemble, Orchestra, and Symphonic Band.Furthermore, she has performed as a soloist in campus and public recitals as well as in her own solo recital this past February.

Kateri is personable and easy to work with. Her intelligence and ambition, willingness to go beyond what is required, and broad range of skills make her the ideal candidate for any music education position.I give her my highest recommendation, without reservation. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of any further assistance.
