Discipline System

This page contains both my personal system of discipline for misbehaving students as well as a reward system for good students and classes. It is my experience that students respond better to positive reinforcement than negative. I would have these rules posted in my classroom to leave no questions about classroom management.

Reward System (Elementary school level)

· “Noteworthy Behavior”

                  - Students are rewarded for good behavior at the end of a successful class. This would involve not breaking the classroom rules. After two classes (this number would be in flux according to how often I would see the class) the class would move up another level on the staff.

Reward System (Secondary level)

· “Money” system—every time a class is well behaved they add some “money” to their bank. After reaching certain levels of money, the class can decide if they’d like to “spend or save” the money to cash in on a reward, such as:

                                            - Favorite music activity

                                            - Music game

                                            - Free creative experience

                                            - Free seating

                                            - Snacks

                                            - Watch a music movie (a musical, concert, Fantasia, etc.)

Discipline System

2) Verbal warning

3) Removal from activity, given assigned task

4) Detention

5) Send to principal’s office
